Finally!!

Humid hot summer has come to Nagoya. Ughh!! I hate it as always.
While I was away from the blog, I pulled sakura cuttings out and threw them away.
They didn't thrive. The surface of soil had gone green.
...don't know why...

But...

Finally my maples got new leaves!! Yes!

Also mom started basil that I got from work.

Greenery is good in life.

La la la

I threw away cuttings of Japanese maples, Ume, Sakura from the first planting
and planted my baby Japanese maple!

Aren't they cute?

Sakura cuttings from the second planting have still hope!!

These are cherry from Sakura trees

I hope this time, they will thrive!!

Why don't I?

Maple cuttings may be gone bad
and there is young maple that may be taken away as a weed.

Why don't I get new one, then?

I went down to check if there are still young maple.
When I looked carefully under the maple,
I found some baby maples!!

heheheh...

Roots! Roots!

You want some??

Japanese maple

It's a season of fresh green.
Vibrant season.

Japanese maples' new leaves are beautiful.
Those things look like red wings are its seeds. Lots of them.
and I looked under the trees....

I found young maples!!

Hmmmmmm, should I get it......?

Green

I noticed small part of soil surface next to Japanese maple cuttings is green...
like matcha powder on soil....

Is this mold or moss??

hmmmm, why is that?

Sakura cuttings from the first planting looks dry too...
hmmmm...

Easter Sunday

We don't celebrate Easter in Japan.

All I know about Easter is bunny, egg, and chocolate.
Oh, I forgot about Easter egg artist, that I filmed about.
How awful am I not remembering anything else about Easter?
I even interviewed him.... Memory loss again.

Anyway, weather is extremely changeable these days.
Sun, cloud, thunder, rain, thunder, sun, cloud, rain....
It's spring, man.

Wow, Sakura fruits are forming! didn't see it for a longest time!

Dunno what kind of fruit it is...

After Sakura season, Fuji - Wisteria, brings news of summer

Found it

Yes, it was trimmed.

I was walking back home through a park near by.
All the Sakura petals fell. So did their stems, which make grounds red.
It's the condition of Sakura I don't like most.
The red colour looks rusted. Gross.
But new born leaves are so green and look vibrant.

Then I found some trees were already trimmed.
Yes, they were trimmed!

Somebody trimmed new branches growing from trunk and exposed roots.

I wasn't sure when they cut it but it's worth try.

Ta dah! New branches are already big!

My new pot ; Styrofoam box of sea weed

Take leaves out, cut, and soak them in water for 3 hours or so.

Ta dah! ... Maybe I did too much?

I took cuttings' leaves away, following instructions.
They all look the same and boring really.

Well, they would grow roots if it thrives....
I was already impatient pulling them out to check if they thrived. Oh, no!
But my friend told me not to...
But then, how will you know they grow roots?
